City of East Moline Elections


The following offices have expiring terms as of April 30, 2021 and can be contested in the primary election on Tuesday, February 23, 2021

  • Mayor
  • City Clerk
  • Treasurer
  • 1st Ward Alderman
  • 3rd Ward Alderman
  • 5th Ward Alderman
  • 7th Ward Alderman

The City Clerk has prepared a packet to make it as easy as possible for you to qualify for the Primary Election.  Packets may be picked up at 915 16th Avenue, 2nd Floor.  The Clerk can be reached at 309-752-1581.

You may begin filing your completed packet on Monday, November 16, 2020 at 8:00 A.M. with the following items:

  1. Statement of Candidacy - your name should be exactly as you want it on the February 23, 2021, ballot.
  2. Nominating Petitions with at least the minimum number of qualified signatures. (signature amount in parentheses)

  3. Receipt for filing Statement of Economic Interests.
  4. Loyalty Oath may be filed at this time, but this is optional.

The deadline for filing is Monday, November 23, 2020 at 5:00 P.M. If you wish to withdraw from the position, you must notify the City Clerk no later than December 17, 2020.
