The East Moline Unit 1 of the Police Benevolent and Protective Association of Illinois was the first ever PBPA Unit in the State of Illinois, chartered in 1936. East Moline Unit 1 is proud to have founded this fraternal organization, now with over 195 units throughout the state and over 6,000 members.

On behalf of its members, PB&PA of Illinois provides lobbyist activities, scholarship opportunities, youth programs, and various other activities and tournaments.

The PB&PA of Illinois is a member of the National Association of Police Organizations, a coalition of police unions and associations from across the United States.

East Moline Unit 1 raises monetary funds throughout the year to support a wide variety of charitable causes. The main fundraising campaign is run from March to July each year. Most of the funds raised are given back to the community through donations to local charities and families in need.

Some of the major recipients of Unit 1 funds were:

  • Children's Therapy Center of the Quad Cities
  • Shop with a Cop
  • Special Olympics
  • Student Hunger Drive
  • Thanksgiving Baskets
  • Two College Scholarships for Law Enforcement
  • United Township High School
