Chief Jeff Ramsey is a 1995 graduate of North High School in Davenport, IA and went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice at Saint Ambrose University in 2000. Chief Ramsey joined the East Moline Police Department in 2001 and after serving time on patrol and in the investigations division, he was promoted to Sergeant in 2008. As a Sergeant, Chief Ramsey was a patrol supervisor on 2nd and 3rd Shifts and also supervised the Special Operations Unit from 2014-2017. Chief Ramsey was promoted to Lieutenant in 2017 and was the 2nd shift commander until he was re-assigned to operate the investigations division in 2018. Chief Ramsey was appointed and sworn in as the Chief of Police for the East Moline Police Department on Jan. 3rd, 2020. Chief Ramsey is a recent graduate of the 278th session of the FBI National Academy.
Chief Ramsey believes in the police engaging with its citizens to make great relationships and providing professional police service to protect its residents and visitors. Chief Ramsey also has great pride in the officers who represent the police department and values their commitment to the City of East Moline.
