The City of East Moline (Pop.21,431) seeks a Director of Economic Development to coordinate and manage development activities within the City. Duties include: coordinating a comprehensive economic development program, the development and implementation of programs to attract and retain business and industry, marketing and management of various city programs, and representing the City with federal, state and local agencies.
Qualified candidate will have knowledge of current economic development practices and public policy; ability to plan/manage a budget; ability to research economic development issues and make recommendations; proven problem solving and judgment skills; effective oral and written communication skills; and experience with current analytical software involving spreadsheet, project management tools, and database development.
A minimum of five (5) years experience in public development or economic development at the local government level and/or at least five (5) years of experience in a business capacity involving project analysis or management is required. A Bachelor's Degree is required in public administration, finance, planning, architecture or closely related field. The City offers a highly competitive compensation package.
