Description

Fire Prevention Week

High Rise Fire Safety

High Rise Residents

Residents of the high rise buildings (those over 2 stories) within East Moline are given an informal presentation outlining the safety precautions they can take.

Information is also shared on the steps to take if a fire occurs and what to do in their specific building.

Residents are given a handout and shown where fire pull stations are located.

Prom Night

 High School Seniors

All high schools seniors view a presentation aiming to prevent drinking and driving within the high school population.

Operation Prom Night has been a successful program presented at many Quad City area high schools for many years.

Students witness a mock scenario involving a 2 car accident where victims are cut from vehicles by fire department personnel.

Students then witness an ER scenario

   Fire Extinguisher Class

After a brief presentation describing the elements of fire, when and how to use an extinguisher, all participants are given the opportunity to extinguish a small fire using a Dry Chemical Extinguisher.

School Newsletters
