The East Moline Fire Department Public Education program provides fire safety, first aid and CPR training to local residents, businesses, schools, church groups and other organizations.

BLS for Healthcare Provider. (4 hours) |
The BLS for Healthcare Providers course teaches the skills of CPR for victims of all ages. The course is designed for healthcare providers who care for patients in a wide variety of settings.

| Heartsaver CPR Adult (3 hours)
All ages (5-6 hours)

The Heartsaver CPR course is a modular course that teaches lay rescuers how to recognize and treat life threatening emergencies, including cardiac arrest and choking for responsive adult, child and infant victims. Students also learn to recognize the warning signs of heart attack and stroke in adults and breathing difficulties in children.

CPR for Family and Friends
(4 hours)
|
CPR for Family and Friends teaches the lay rescuer skills in CPR and relief of foreign body airway obstruction (FBAO) in the responsive victim. Other information presented includes, the Chain of Survival, signs of heart attack , cardiac arrest, stroke and choking.

Heartsaver First Aid

With CPR (6 hours) |
The Heartsaver First Aid course teaches rescuers to effectively recognize and treat adult emergencies in the critical first minutes until emergency medical services personnel arrive. Combine this course with the CPR module for the complete health and safety training solution.

All classes are taught by American Heart Association Instructors who follow the AHA course guidelines.
Courses are offered to all residents of East Moline and any community group or workplace wishing to become trained in CPR and/or First Aid.
Classes will be conducted in groups of no less than 6, with maximum numbers varying by course.
Classes are offered at the East Moline Fire Department, 1523 Morton Drive, or at a suitable location within the city by request.
