Project Description: This project consists of the construction of new concrete street between 13th Avenue and Beacon Harbor Parkway near "The Quarter" Riverfront Development. This project is driven by the potential for economic development along the south side of the new street as well as in The Quarter.
Project Description: This project combines repair of deteriorated sanitary sewers in East Moline, Moline, Rock Island and Coal Valley. The combination of small projects to provide a large project for bidding and reduce the cost of construction by economy of scale.
Project Description: This project consists of the construction of new concrete sidewalk along the south side of 14th Avenue in front of the new Metrolink Transit Center located in the Great River Industrial Park (G.R.I.P.) this sidewalk will provide pedestrian access between 10th Street and 13th Street as well as to the Metrolink facility and other local businesses.
Project Description: This project consists of milling and resurfacing 7th Street between 34th and 41st Avenues. The existing street surface is rutted and deteriorated due to high traffic volume. The proposed improvements will provide a new wearing surface for the street.
Project Description: This project consists of milling and resurfacing many badly deteriorated downtown alleys. Please see the 2007 CIP map for specific blocks that are included in this program.
Project Description: This project consists of low-cost street surface improvements in the form of seal-coating, microsurfacing, and cape-sealing treatments to existing residential streets. A variety of street types are included with this program in which the City will test new street surfacing techniques in a variety of applications. The results of this program will be utilized to assist in planning East Moline's 5-year Capital Improvement Plan for street maintenance and upgrades throughout the City. Project Description: This project consists of storm sewer replacement/repair and re-grading badly eroded portions of city storm sewers in areas where the storm pipes empty into ravines. The program this year focuses on three (3) storm sewers in the ravine east of 5th Street.
Project Description: This project consists of the replacement of a badly deteriorated water main along 1st Street from 16th Avenue to the dead-end south of the East Moline VFW Hall. The proposed improvements will dramatically improve fire flow and water quality in the project area. A $100,000 grant was received from Representative Mike Boland to assist the City with this project.
