 GARBAGE COLLECTION
It is requested by the City that refuse be ready for pickup by 7:00 a.m. (6:00 a.m. during the months of June, July and August). Garbage refuse must be placed in plastic garbage bags before placing in regular garbage cans. Garbage cans are not required, however, the owner will be responsible for the condition of the plastic bags at collection time.
There is a limit of eight (8) containers of garbage cans and bags, with a maximum of four (4) garbage cans per household. Each garbage can must not exceed 35 gallons in capacity, must have two handles, and a tight fitting lid (Code 7-9-5.1). Improper containers will be tagged and not serviced.
Businesses and multiple dwelling of three (3) or more in East Moline are required to have dumpsters for garbage collection. The city does not service these dumpsters, however, businesses may contract with a disposal service directly on their own. |

 YARD WASTE COLLECTION
Starting on April 2, 2008 and running through the first week of December, Yard Waste collection day has changed:
All residents Yard Waste collection will be Wednesdays Carbon Cliff residents Yard Waste Collection will be on Wednesdays There will be NO yard waste collection the week of Thanksgiving.
1. Residents that desire Yard waste collection must register with the City of East Moline annually. 2. An annual registration fee of $10 must be paid before yard waste collection can be provided. Six (6) free yard waste stickers shall be provided to each registrant after payment is collected. More yard waste stickers may be purchased at East Moline Jewel Store, East Moline Walgreens, East Moline City Hall, and Silvis Hy-Vee. 3. Yard waste registration forms may be downloaded by clicking on the link below, picked up at the finance/water office at City Hall or at Engineering & Maintenance Services Building, or by mail by calling 752-1573.

Bulky Item Collection
Bulky collections are for large bulky items that cannot go in garbage cans or bags for regular garbage collection. You must contact the Maintenance Services office at (309) 752-1573 to schedule a bulky collection.
Bulky collection service shall be provided up to four (4) times per calendar year for a prepaid fee of $10 per collection. Residents may purchase the $10 Bulky Collection Stickers at the Finance Office and various local stores. Each sticker purchased will provide the resident with a collection of one large dump truck or less. Any collections need in addition to the four per calendar year, shall be provided at the rate of twenty-five ($25) dollars for each addition collection, but not to exceed three (3) additional collections within the same calendar year (Code 7-9-7).

ITEMS NOT COLLECTED Motor vehicles or motor vehicle parts; whole or partial building demolitions waste; hazardous, infectious or explosive wastes; and dead animal carcasses (Code 7-9-7). |
