Foreign Fire Insurance Board
Illinois Compiled Statue states that a company, corporation, or association outside of Illinois that sells fire insurance to property owners in the City of East Moline must pay 2% of the gross receipts to the Illinois Municipal
League, which then distributes the funds to the Foreign Fire Insurance Board of East Moline.
Fire & Police Commissioners
The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners derives its authority from the Illinois Municipal Code, Illinois Compiled Statues, and the City of East Moline Code of Ordinances.
The East Moline Public Library is governed by an appointed Board of Trustees. The Board meets at 4:00 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of every month except for the combined months of November/December. Visitors are welcome.
The park and recreation board shall consist of nine (9) members. One member of the nine (9) members shall be an alderman, with voting power. In addition, there shall be an alternate alderman appointed, to have voting power only in the absence of the primary aldermanic member. Both the primary and alternate aldermanic members shall be appointed by the mayor, with the consent of the city council.
East Moline Plan Commission has the responsibility to oversee comprehensive planning and zoning matters of the city.
Board of Zoning Appeals
The East Moline Board of Zoning Appeals has power to hear and render judgement on three types of appeals in accordance with the provisions of the zoning title.
